# What is the Math Portfolio Method?

# The Math Portfolio Method - concepts and roles

The **Lean Notes website**: The Lean Notes website is a curated wiki that links and organizes information regarding all things Lean. The platform is optimized to present a `portfolio` of work for the Lean Note authors, The portfolio view of the Lean Notes website is suitable for supplementing admissions and employment application documentation.

**Note**: Lean notes are organized and linked in the usual way of a wiki. Also, credits for authoring is provided by tagging, similar to the [Stack Exchange platforms](https://proofassistants.stackexchange.com). Notes are created and published with the [Obsidian application](https://obsidian.md).

**Portfolio**: Authors create and maintain a portfolio home page with links to their `Lean notes.` Pertinent personal, academic and professional information can also be included in their home page.

- The same person can fulfill multiple Lean Note roles. A advisor in one subject area can be an author, a peer, or a curator in another.

**Authors**: Authors are the principal creators of the notes in a portfolio. They can collaborate with `peers`. They always work with an advisor.

an authors portfolio notes.

**Curators**: Curators upload portfolio notes for authors. They maintain and tidy up the portfolios.

**Process**: The process of posting an note into a portfolio involves:
1. Collecting and organizing resources that are used to create the note
2. Writing up the note in the Obsidian app and optionally creating a descriptive video.
3. Submitting the work to a qualified mentor and optionally to a peer for review and approval. This will usually involve working with your mentor and peer to polish and refine your work.
4. Requesting the website curator to upload your note.
